Incredible Varanasi!

Varanasi "the city of light" is the oldest city of world.Varanasi is an ancient city,dotted with numerous temples.Before it was the home of Lord Shiva,god of extreme politeness.Every year thousand of pilgrims all over the world visits this pious city to pay homage to the prisiding holy shrines.Well,i came here to go all the places.It is globally famous for mysticism,spritualism,hinduism and Indian philosophy.It is famous for its spritiual and riligious lifestyle.Hindu temples,ashram,Buddhist stupas and jain temples are amongst the popular tourist attraction of the town.And if you come and attend the evening aarti on the ghats of ganges then it would be a great pleasure for your sprituilism. River Ganga or the Ganges is a major river of the Indian subcontinent, associated in myth and reality with the land and people of India as well as neighboring countries like Bangladesh. In Hinduism, the river Ganga is personified as Goddess and holds an important place in the Hindu religion. In Hindu mythology, it is believed that bathing in the river Ganga causes the remission of sins and facilitates the attainment of salvation or nirvana. This deep-rooted truth is proved by the fact that people travel from distant places to immerse the ashes of their kin in the waters of the Ganga at Varanasi or other places located on the banks of this holy river. Some of these sacred places, located on the Ganga, are Varanasi, Haridwar and Prayag (Allahabad).Languages spoken in this city are Hindi,Sanskrit and English.Sanskrit is the sacred language and even its bit difficult to speak.I also heard that the population of this city is about 14 laks...well,cant believe...even some American expatriates are living in Varanasi for mental peace,god knows what they want.And beware i also heard about touts pose as 'pundits' on the ghats to extract money from the devotees to perform religious act.Varanasi is the mirror of ancient Indian civilization.In my stay i also realized the respect of Hindu tradition.well, move to the places like Jantar Mantar Observatory is a great place of tourist interest built by Jai Singh, the ruler of Varanasi in 1600A.D.The observatory houses all the instruments which are used to record the speed,motion,properties of stars.Sankat Mochan Temple is one of the prominent sacred holy shrines for Hindu pilgrims.It was founded by tulsidas,the author of Hindu  epic 'Ramcharitamanas'.They pray to Lord Hanuman,god of extreme power for their prosperous future.Then i moved to Durga Temple it is also known as Monkey Temple,dedicated to goddes Durga,the Temple is built in Nagra style which is typical North Indian style.The temple was built in 18th century by a Bengali Maharani(Queen).Now,me and my friends moved to Bharat Mata Temple,Indians believe that this earth is our mother or we could say mother nature.Many patriots,freedom fighters died for the freedom of United India(including Bhutan,Pakistan,Mayanmar these all were the parts of India during British Raj.).Bharat Mata Temple(Mother India Temple) was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhiin the year 1936.A marble statue of Mother India and a model of depicting plains,mountains and oceans is placed inside the temple.Bharat Kala Bahavan is a museum which showcases India's rich heritage.The museum was established in the year 1920 A.D and treasures a fine collection of Hindu and Buddhist sculpture,painting and other important artifacts which are archaeological important.Across the Varanasi is Ramnagar which was the capital of the former prince.Before Varanasi was a state but now its a city.Ramnagar Fort is still the seat of the maharajah(King) of Varanasi but now there is no more rule of kings in India.Ramnagar Fort is a great architectural delight for the travel buffs across the globe.It was built in 17th century and served as a royal residence of former rulers of Varanasi.Do you know there are so many Hindi language words which we use like Oye,Maa,Avatar,Guru,trignometry.Now storys end up.My experience of Varanasi was exotic,now i unserstand why people says 'Incredible India' because India  has incredible places 'Incredible Varanasi'.
